A Day With Family

Hi everyone.

We all had a lay in this morning, I couldn’t believe my luck! A lay in on a Sunday, it’s never usually heard of when you have a hyperactive toddler.

I got a phone call shortly after waking up to see if we fancied going to a BBQ at Matt’s brothers house which we of course wanted to do! Who would turn down free food in the sunshine?

We don’t get to spend much time with Matt’s brother and his fiance as they’re super busy, they have 3 kids and 1 due next month so finding time isn’t easy but Oliver loves seeing them all. We said our hello’s, got a drink and headed into the garden. They had a play tent, trampoline and water table set up which Oliver went straight up too – he really is a water baby.

He also loves dogs so spent most of his time following their dog around trying to hug/kiss her whilst saying “aww”. They had a great time chasing bubbles together too.

We had our food (Chinese chicken, burgers, sausages, salad, all that good stuff) and enjoyed the moments. It’s not often that Oliver has a young person to play with so he was in his element having a play mate for the day.

The weather soon got a bit too much for little monster so we went inside. They had a toot toot set so Oliver and Matt spent some time playing with that, it’s really made me want to buy him one but the price of the sets are ridiculous! I’ll have to keep an eye out for some in the sale.

The little people spent some time watching Paw Patrol and playing and the bigger people had a well needed relax to cool down. Matt had been helping his brother with some cable related stuff so once that was done we went back home. Oliver missed his afternoon nap again but didn’t make a fuss about it until around 6pm when he was desperate to go to sleep – I managed to keep him awake until 7pm, at that point I was also falling asleep.

Matt and I decided to spent the evening watching London Has Fallen with a Chinese takeaway as he goes back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off, boo. 😦

I hope you’ve all had a wonderful day, you lovely people!

Thanks for reading!
