If you’re a parent, you’ll know that weekends don’t count for much, they’re the same as every other day (I often lose count of which day it actually is). The kids will be up at the crack of dawn (if not earlier, demanding breakfast) and you’ll have a million and 1 things to do before sitting down to eat or drink anything. Today was different.
Oliver wasn’t awake until just gone 8:30am which is a miracle. We had breakfast, had a cuddle and guess what.. We all fell asleep again until 10ish – what a result! It was just what I needed after a long week and what better day to have it than a Sunday. We had a lovely homey day playing on Oliver’s new slide and enjoying the hot weather.
As we live near a the sea, we decided to take our puppy out on a long walk. I was also hoping this would make Oliver extra ready for bed, good old sea breeze. Walks are one of the most enjoyable times for me, there’s nothing better than being surrounded by the people you love and not being at home for them all to make a mess.
We got home, the baby and the dog were K.O’d in minutes and we decided chicken balls, spring rolls and curry sauce were needed – extremely good decision.. Well, when isn’t Chinese food a good decision? Time for a bath and my bed – oh how I’ve missed you!
All in all, it was a good, homey, happy day. Days like this give me the strength I need to get through the bad ones. If today was a bad one for you, I hope your tomorrow is better.
